Looking for the best after-school activities for your kids without the premium price tag? The Fort Lee Recreation Spring 2026 brochure has just been released, and it’s packed with incredible opportunities.
As a local mom who enrolled my child in the After-School Tennis Clinic last winter, I’ve seen firsthand how these programs offer the perfect balance of quality and affordability. In this post, I’ll share my honest review and everything you need to know for the upcoming registration.

Why We Love Fort Lee After-School Programs
Many parents in Bergen County feel the pressure of expensive private academies. However, Fort Lee Recreation provides a fantastic alternative.
My Child’s Tennis Experience
Last session, my child joined the tennis program, and it exceeded my expectations:

- Cost-Effective: It is arguably the most affordable way to introduce your child to sports.
- Engaging Coaches: The instructors were great at managing a group of energetic kids while teaching actual skills.
- Social & Physical Benefits: It was a great way for my child to make local friends while staying active after school hours.
Crucial Registration Info: Payment Methods vary by Program
One thing you must know before you go: Fort Lee Recreation has different payment rules depending on the activity.
1. The “Check Only” Rule (General Programs)
For most in-person registrations (Art, STEM, etc.), they do NOT accept credit cards or cash. * Payment Method: You must bring a Check or Money Order made payable to the “Borough of Fort Lee.”
- Pro Tip: I saw several parents who had to leave the line because they didn’t have their checkbooks. Don’t let that be you!
2. Special Cases: Tennis (Zelle Accepted!)
Good news for tennis lovers! Unlike other programs, Tennis clinics accept Zelle. * Based on our experience in the winter session, being able to pay via Zelle made the process much smoother. However, since rules can change slightly each season, I still recommend having a backup check handy just in case!
3. Online Only: TGA Golf & USA Sport Group
Don’t show up at the Recreation Center for these! Some programs are managed by outside organizations and require 100% online registration.
- TGA Junior Golf: Registration starts March 9th at 8:00 AM sharp on their website.
- USA Sport Group (Soccer, Track & Field): These are also online-only and fill up very fast. Make sure to create your account in advance!
Spring 2026 Registration Schedule
Mark your calendars! Missing these dates often means missing out on the most popular classes.
- In-Person Registration (Residents): Saturday, March 21st, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Location: Fort Lee Recreation Center (1500 8th Street)
- Online Registration: Programs like TGA Golf (starts March 9th) and USA Sport Group are online only. Check the brochure for specific links!
Top Picks for Spring 2026 After-School Activities
Based on the new brochure, here are a few programs worth considering:
- Tennis Clinics: Highly recommended for building coordination.
- Abrakadoodle Art: A favorite for creative kids (Ages 20 months to 10 years).
- Outer Space & Physics: A new STEM class for ages 7-11—perfect for curious minds!
- Public Speaking: Great for building confidence in elementary students.
Conclusion
Fort Lee Recreation is truly a gem for our community. It’s rare to find such high-quality after-school programs at these prices. If you’re a Fort Lee resident, take advantage of these resources!
