Hi, I’m Tworin Mom 👋
I’m a Korean mom living in Fort Lee, New Jersey, raising two kids — a 1st grader at a NJ public school and a Pre-K kid at a Korean-American preschool.
We moved here from Korea a couple of years ago, and this blog is my running record of everything I’ve figured out along the way — the school system, the neighborhoods, the workbooks that actually work, and the places worth driving to on a Saturday.
Before moving to the US, I spent a decade working at an international organization in Korea. English was always part of my professional life, but parenting in English — decoding report cards, talking to teachers, understanding the difference between an IEP and a gifted program — was a whole different challenge.
What you’ll find here
- Real experiences navigating NJ public schools as a Korean immigrant family
- Honest reviews of kids’ books, workbooks, and educational resources we’ve actually used
- Family-friendly places to go in New Jersey and nearby
- Practical guides for Korean and immigrant moms settling into life in NJ
I write from personal experience, not sponsored talking points. If something didn’t work for us, I’ll say so.
If you’re a Korean mom in NJ — or any immigrant parent trying to figure this all out — you’re in the right place.
— Tworin Mom
